As happy as it makes me to know that science keeps marching on, tearing down anti-vaxxers as it goes, this is bad.

very bad.

This study has already been published and circulated around the internet. This withdraw won't reach the same people, and will likely influence even fewer.
The damage has been done

It won't matter to anti-vaxxers. Their mind is made up and there is no going back. They'll stick with it until it personally impacts them in a negative way.

Though, to be fair, I can think of other groups of people who are that way.

The withdrawal will just be seen as further evidence of a big pharma, government, media coverup. It seems the best way to increase the popularity of the anti-vaxx movement is to have another study come out saying there is no link.

As mentioned earlier it is not just the anti vaxx movement. We are in an era where the assumption is at least in America that there is a nefarious motive for all things.
