I don't know if this is a general trait of Autism but I've always been amused, cheered up or heavily distracted by things such as:

-simple happy faces on stuff
-animals in the park (especially dogs!)
-tv commercial mascots
-really cheesy puns and plays on words
-really ridiculous details like turkey dinosaurs being shaped like dinosaurs
-unintended errors in video games

I mean, I'm far from an idiot. Socially awkward perhaps, a bit controversial, but definitely no dunce.
And yet, I find stuff like this funny.

Is this common in Aspies do you believe?

I bet you it's pretty common amongst all people----though most don't want to admit it.

Oh I really enjoy animal life in the park when walking my dog or sitting in the garden.
I can get really fascinated by a bee or a spider and watch them for ages.
I never evict spiders from my bedroom - I live with them instead as I respect their existence.
Babies cheeky laughs on commercials get me smiling.
I remember buying curly fries just because I can. They were cool.
I have a favourite tree I see in the distance on a hill which looks like a cockeral - but only in the winter when the other trees have shed their leaves and it is not hidden.
I admit all of this and have no qualms about it.

Whatever floats your proverbial boat. In this day and age we need things to cheer us up more than ever, even if it seems a little silly. Today I was feeling tired and depressed, so I bought a couple of Kinder Surprise eggs with Ninja Turtle figures in them and a Pez dispenser with a black body and a transparent red devil Emoji's head.

I get a lot of joy out of seeing people walking their dogs. I also get a lot of joy from watching kids running around and playing on playgrounds.
