"Autism Speaks 400"

Because I have it set to pick up anything with Autism in it, my Tivo is currently recording the "Autism Speaks 400". It's some Nascar race, that that Autism Speaks group has branded. My understanding is we don't like them...so I was thinking of trying to force myself to watch this, to see if there's anything weird in it...but it's four and a half hours long...

Thought I'd give a heads up in case anyone is curious about what they're doing branding races.

I went to watch the race. What's this "Autism Speaks" stuff?

What the hell are they doing sponsoring NASCAR of all things?!

You know what we should do? Arrange a secret CAN Spam day, and then send ALL our complaints at ONE time via e-mail and normal mail!

You know what's really sickening about all this crap directed at autistics? Nobody would tolerate it if it was directed at black people, gays , etc., but since it's directed at autistics people treat it like it's somehow OK.

Here's the autism speaks mission statement, with the word "autism" replaced with "homosexuality":

one of my favorite things, ever, is when people decide that something is wrong for *everyone* just because they know it is wrong for *them*..and then proceed to hatemonger and be a-holes.
