So, I was looking through some old photos of me, and one in particular struck me as quite odd. Mainly the position of my hands:

Image

Looking at it, you'd think I was leaning on a staircase banister or something, but I wasn't. Not sure how that's even comfortable, it must've been otherwise why would've I have done it? Not sure how much you can make out from the picture, but I was stood on my side.

Anyone remember any weird ways they posed as a kid?

Some odd poses are just fozen motion; you may have been cutting a caper.
In my early teens, I slept in the narrow space beside my bed, with pillows to emulate a far-reclined chair.

There are pictures of me posing like that as a kid, too. My son had a stim for a while when he was about 7 that was striking a pose "freeze-frame" style whenever he was excited. He was, at the same time, interested in disco dance videos on YouTube, so his poses were always disco inspired.

I can't see your picture, Lost Dragon.

I wish I could see it.

I never looked at the camera, even when I thought I did the finished photograph would show my head side on.

My mother was a photographer, and used me for practice. I learned to ignore the lens, and not always smile for it. That got me onto the front page of two newspapers, when people were able to take close up pictures of what I was doing with me still looking at my job.

Does this show up, or same problem?

It shows up--but it's a bit fuzzy.

I guess you don't want to show your face.

Are you doing Gangnam Style?

Whenever I sat on the floor I used to W-sit which I have just Googled (to find out how the hell to describe that position), and apparently it indicates low muscle tone which is common in Aspies so that's interesting. I think sitting like that is probably why my knees turn inwards now though. :(

I guess I was doing Gangham style dancing before it became cool. 8)

This picture was taken way before that music video came out. I do have a faint memory of posing for this picture, my dad didn't like how I was posed and they tried to get me to pose differently, but I wasn't getting it so the gave up and took the photo.

Not sure if that memory is real or not, but that's what I recall.

I don't believe you can tell much about a person through photographs I really don't. Especially when it comes to something like autism (especially in the "high-functioning" part of it).

All pictures of me made it seem like I was a "normal" kid.

I had "full-blown" autism when I was 2 1/2. There's a picture of me with my brother. I look like any normal kid of that age. I smiled, and everything.
