Do you feel impatient and impulsive during a sensory overload? I feel like everything is happening must happen very fast. As if I drank 3 redbulls. I've noticed this feeling increase over time. Who is with me here?

Hey there! :D

Yeah, I can certainly say I've felt that and you are not alone!

I am very frightened by the crowds, all the movement and noise starts to freak me out so there gets to a point where I'm screaming in my head "out! out!" and I'll push past anything to escape

Can you tell us a little more about it?

If I have too many things to think about in my head I sometimes have a sensory overload like that and I usually rush around tidying up or trying to put things in order, to calm myself down.

If it's a sensory overload caused by too much visual stimuli, too much noise, too many people etc (this will often happen when I go clothes shopping - an activity I really dislike) I usually go the opposite way and became tired, weak, dizzy, light headache etc... when I get like this I just want to go underneath my duvet.

I suppose the first one is more of a meltdown and the second one a shutdown.
