So I was thinking about my ex who ghosted me, and was about to meltdown but instead listened to music and sang loudly and banged my fists on my bed. The songs were bebe rhxa I want to dance with somebody, and Someone will love you let me go by hailee steinfeld. I was screaming the lyrics. It stopped a full meltdown.

I had a similar experience about a month ago, I now debate if I should have access to music all the time.

It works for me. There have been many times that one of my favourite songs stopped a meltdown in its tracks.

I am so grateful for finally having a phone that I can play music on. It really helps me get through the day, especially on the metro. I had a lot of public meltdowns before I started having music with me at all times.

I think you might be onto something here!

Given my own fascination with music and the fact that I listen to it whenever I possibly can I'm sure that it has prevented many a meltdown and I didn't even know it. But then again there are many times when I listen to music strictly to calm myself down and music soothing properties are well-documented so it would stand to reason.

It is also well-documented the need for all ASDs to listen to music on a regular basis. I would put money on the fact that most if not all who use these forums have a very strong desire to listen to their chosen form of music on a regular basis simply for the fact that the need is there.

I think I would actually die if I lost the ability to appreciate music.

Yeah, when I'm mad I usually listen to rap music. I eventually made my own rap album when I realized that I hate most rap music.

I also use music to get things done around the house. It helps me focus and calm down.
