I have problem especially when the sun is out it's been more since I started wearing Contact Lenses. When I used to wear glasses all the time it didn't really bother me at all but what happens when I go out in the sun this is in winter as well sometimes I have this when it is overcast. I have to wear sunglasses because it is too bright when I wear glasses and when I go out I tend to walk around with one eye open the other either closed or half open is it a AS trait or not

I don't wear glasses but I do have a strong senstivity to sunshine. In the summer I just find it so annoying. I have problems in the winter too, especially with the snow, it just has such a strong reflextion. I prefer days that are overcast too, it just isn't as strong.

If I so much as see a bright glare off of something when the sun is out, my eyes will burn/water for a good 30 minutes at least. If I glance up at the sky, they water for an hour or 2 sometimes.

Oddly, it's like that with snow too in the winter... I hate the sun on the snow everywhere, and refuse to drive or go outside on sunny winter days.

It could be an AS thing as it could be caused by sensory overload.

But you can have sensitive eyes without having AS as well, so it is difficult to say conclusively.

I've been having this problem a lot, lately, too. I finally went to the eye doctor yesterday. She said it was caused by dry eyes and put me on some day and night-time eye drops. It does seem slightly better today.

I absolutely HATE sunlight. It's really hot at the moment as well. It feels suffocating.

I wear shades when i am outside too, just like Bono!

I hate the sun too. In the summer I squint my eyes because it's so bright out. I never saw it as an aspie thing. I thought it happens to lot of people or there wouldn't be any sunglasses sold in stores. They be special orders only if it was a disability thing. Heck why do you think cars has visors in them and the blue color on top of the windchill. Heat is what I can't stand when it's real hot out. I try to avoid being outdoors as much as possible during the day. But if I'm out swimming then I'm fine because they I don't feel the heat anymore because the water keeps me cool.

Sunglasses have never worked for me. I still squint, and the part of the glasses that touch my nose gives me have a sinus headache.

I love the sun,but glare from carlights at night and things like that drive me crazy.I don't much care for computer monitors or fluorescent light either.Regular light or sunlight I have to adjust to slowly. Thanks

Does wearing a hat too help? When I walk my dog, I have sunglasses that came with my classes (magnetic), and wear a hat, or else I'd be having to still shade my eyes a lot of the time.

What! And, mess up my hair??? Seriously, though, I never wear a hat. I don't know what it is exactly, but it makes me uncomfortable. I feel like people look at women who wear hats. I don't need any extra scrutiny. Plus, I think of my hair as my best feature, so I never cover it up. I do like Sopho's hat, but I could never pull it off. :)

Just realized that my Avatar wears a hat. :D Maybe I secretly long to wear one. Well, maybe if the Victorian dresses and hats ever come back in style.
