I am so sick of my hair. I have a double crown at the back and two cow licks at the front on the brow line. Getting a hairdresser who understands that my hair will behave differently when it dries is tiresome. If they cut it wet, it just won’t sit right when it’s dried. I don’t tell them this just to be difficult. I tell them because I don’t want a cr#p haircut with bits that stick out. Surely they should be able to cut dry hair without it being a drama. There is only one hairdresser I know who doesn’t mind cutting my hair dry but she isn’t always available. Am I the only one who struggles with this?
Multiple whorls, crowns, cow licks arise during neural development so during the first 14 to 16 weeks of gestation and are associated with brain insult or unusual development so I imagine we probably have a higher incidence.

When I lived in Japan, they only cut hair dry. Then washed it. Then blow dried it. Can you find a Japanese hairdresser?

That is interesting about neural development. My daughter has a white streak in her hair. The hair dresser once asked if she had had an injury as it indicates that those hair sacs have died. I wonder if that was pre birth cause she never had a head injury? But then I have had 5 pretty full on concussions (fell of a wall, fell of a roof, got hit over the head with a bag of cans, fell of a horse, had the biggest boy in class fall into me into a metal locker) and my hair is super uneventful!

Anyway, I digress.... best of luck finding a hairdresser.

I'd consider getting a wig. I have a double crown myself but being a man I just keep getting my hair cut short. I don't think there is any way of controlling it if you have that kind of thing.

Double whorl and multiple places it simply won't lay flat for me, like fifasy, though, I just keep it short enough not to matter.

Keep insisting on what you need, and best of luck!

I think they cut it wet because it has to be dead straight, otherwise it will end up uneven. I don't think hair curls in exactly the same way each time you wash it. Have you tried straightening it to make it sit right? My fringe sticks in all directions unless I straighten it.

Very interesting. I'm not familiar with the terms, but my hair goes 42 different directions.

Maybe it's looking for the meaning of life.
