I realize one thing that I have a hard time recognizing is subtle discrimination. I've come to realize that some people still have a problem with a person with mild autism. I've come to realize that "if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck". As I've gotten older I sometimes not realize that someone is acting in a discriminatory way. Sometimes I forget the battle I'm facing. Do you think the best way is to just acknowledge it and move on or to address it and "nip it in the bud" and let the person know you will not accept this type of behavior?
