My voice is sometimes quite ‘flexible’ in my speech. Bouncy, from high-pitched to natural, to high-pitched again. But, sometimes it’s monotonous with slight raises. I’m never able to control my pitch. Is this an Autism Thing, or just me?

Probably just you, mine is monotonous but a friend of mine with AS has a normal flowing voice like everyone else.

I noticed that with a few people at my local autism support group meetings. I guess it is not uncommon among Aspies.

Just my personal anecdote - I think I experience something similar. It mainly has to do with how comfortable I am with the person I'm conversing with. If I'm weary of them, I tend to have a high pitched voice, if I'm comfortable, it tends to be low pitched. I don't think it's exclusively an autism thing, though.

People always tell me I sound like a little kid. Like on the phone they ask to speak to my mom

I got that a lot when I used to live alone and had a landline. It doesn't really happen on my mobile phone.

I have the stereotypical aspie odd prosody, rambling from singsong to monotonous, not being in the proper vocal register, either too low or too high.
