Middle school basketball team, player with autism honored by Knox County Commission

Quote:
Sammy has autism, but that didn't stop him from making some three pointers and helping out with team spirit.

"To see all of that come together was fascinating for me as a coach, but it's bigger than basketball," said basketball coach Joel Sampsel.

"The mayor, the person, the lady who recognized me, wrote that very important article, It was beautiful. It moved me to tears and it really made me very happy," said Sammy.

Sammy says he hopes to play for Central High School and the University of Tennessee when he grows up.
