Ok, I don't really think that's true. I think everybody has their own worth. BUT I keep hearing this on the forum. Then everybody is always trying to figure out what artistic or scientific genius had Autism and diagnosing them. But what about NOW? Why aren't there any geniuses right now, totally revolutionizing the world with their Autistic brain? I think we should all ban together and Autisimify the universe. So I'm trying to come up with ideas to invent things or improve existing things.

One idea - TOILETS - SO GROSS! And they waste too much water. You know what I hate about them? This is kinda gross - but when it splashes back on you! Yuck! Also, we are supposed to be in more of a squatting position for optimum health in the matter.

So here's my idea. First of all we build the toilet so that it's at least a half way squat when you are sitting on it.
Then, instead of water, it goes down into a system that collects it and puts natural stuff in it to start turning it into compost. Then it's sent into a box like thing, but the box itself is kept entirely dry and untouched by any of it, then it's sealed. And you have guys come and exchange the boxes when they fill up the, like they do those big water bottles. The boxes would be reusable so no waste.

Who else has an AUTASTIC idea for the universe?!

Edit for clarity - I'm talking about an entire system to replace plumbing so that it can be used in high rises and apartment buildings, etc. Not a standalone toilet. I don't think those are quite efficient enough for various reasons.

Noise-free zones for public places like restaurants, malls, etc. similar to the smoking areas places used to have when smoking indoors was still allowed. There could just be small rooms or glass-enclosed spaces where people could go, no talking above a whisper allowed. I think it would be pretty simple to implement, and would make going out much easier for people with sensory processing problems. Maybe the rooms could have curtains and/or dim lighting for those with light sensitivity too.

Star Trekker, that's a pretty neat idea!

Janissy, I know they invented these, my fault I wasn't clear - I meant to build an entire system that could be used in high rises say. Although, I just looked at your link and maybe if these were economical enough they could use something like this that is standalone. I was thinking of a system where all the refuge went to one place. If you have individual systems, then somebody's going to have drag little boxes of poo all through the halls pretty often.

The composting toilet has already been invented.

there is quite a bit of aspie supremism on here which is not just isolating and demeaning NTs but also those of us elsewhere on the spectrum to,however a lot of what looks like aspie supremism/elitism is just people with a lot of pride in their identity because they never had a label to identify to.

if are wanting a squatting toilet wozeree just get one of those muslim influenced toilets fitted, they have them in some hospitals over here, was amazed when first saw them.

relating to toilets, I have heard in some place they have music in bathrooms to stop people from hearing when you go to the loo, I hate people hearing so I think it should be used in the UK

why hate people hearing it? :?
they do it to,everyone does it,its just a sound that humans had decided to make a social rule against, its also a pretty funny sound for those of us with a toilet [no pun] humour. :P

music being played in toilets coud make toilets inaccessible to autists with severe sensory issues, hyperacusis, misophonia etc and it coud also prevent someone ill or frail from being able to call for help if they had any trouble whilst on the toilet or disguise someone being harmed plus it coud encourage people to hang around in them.

I hate splash back too. I put extra paper in to prevent that. And I am quick to get away from a public toilet when I flush because some of them spray water all over. I like your idea :)

I see how you project your enthusiasm onto that elephant! His enthusiasm trumps (trumpets?) all apathy.

Actually, I think it's more natural for people to squat--so squat toilets, as exist in Asian and some European countries, might fill the bill (though I tried to use one once near Venice, Italy--but was eminently unsuccessful.

Too bad about music and sensory overload; I wouldn't mind a little Mozart with my paper-reading.

I once knew somebody who tried to be a compost-toilet salesperson--her ideas never got out of the septic tank.

copy mozarts music to an mp3 player/smart phone and get a pair of ear phones-sorted. :D
of course others will hear the toileting associated noises but its good to share.

In my long and fun life being super fit was the foundation of most of good things that happened to me. But now so many people are fat or even obese. I think that being ft or obese is terrible life karma. Being way overweight and unfit changes the way the world looks... it's like a TERRIBLE handicap in one's chance of having a good life... imo.

When I was a kid there were NO obese people except the Fat Lady at the traveling circus... and she didn't weigh much more than 300 lbs! Anyway, getting super fit means exercising 5 times a week, always trying to go further... faster... always trying to improve. Timing yourself... and caring!

So my rant is that in 9th grade kids should spend an HOUR a day getting fit. BUT, how they get fit is that they must take laps on the school track, and they must... must improve their times every month. If they don't, then they must spend an extra half hour every day for the next MONTH (coaching!). After four years they will all be FLYING... no one will be overweight!

What actually happens is that after a few months of just trying to get fit, when you are young, you start getting fit... and you FEEL better, stronger, brighter. And that propels you forward. Soon you are on your toes, eating well, but losing weight.

Imagine if we actually started losing weight as a country!? Being fit changes EVERYTHING!

Are you serious?! I was thin as a stick up until my late 20's, but was always last to finish running a mile in school, and my time never improved. If I had been forced to do what you say I probably would have dropped dead from exhaustion.
