It's my eyelashed and beard. I like to pick on them and pluck them. Then I feel a smoothing sensation when I put it in my mouth. I can't help it. I do it so much that I find myself doing this this in public without even noticing. What is this and what disorders is this associated. Yes, I have HFA.

It’s probably trichotillomania

I hope you don’t ingest the hair as it can lead to hair balls and I’m not making that up. People have surgery to remove the hair balls.

I agree with bunnyb, sounds like trich. I have the same problem, don't even notice it happening. Gives me bald spots when I do it too much in the same spot. :(

My psychiatrist recently recommended I start taking a supplement called NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine). The literature suggests it has an effect for somewhere between one-half and two-thirds of people who take it at ~1000 mg/day. I found some on Amazon, but apparently some Walmarts and pharmacies carry it.

I have this problem too. At one point I actually plucked out all my eyebrows. I see it as a harmful stim, and I try to look for better ways to stim. Maybe consider getting a stim toy?
