That is a question that no one knows the answer to because the data doesn't exist.

Countries in the third world don't have the mental health system to find and diagnose children, or adults, with autism. Half of the population of Somalia could be autistic and no one would know it.

And even the industrialized and semi industrialized countries have very incomplete data on numbers of autistics within their borders.

Ask again, in fifty, or in a hundred, years and maybe the answer to that question will be known.

I remember reading that it was the U.K. a while back. But obviously, this depends on how the country treats autism and mental health in general.

I don't know, but I read that Finland has twice as many aspies as the US (2% vs 1%).

It depends on many factors.

Most likely, it is some country in northern Europe.
