Wow that sucks, I have auditory processing issues myself and that sounds awful.

It works great for me, and completely elevates my auditory sensitivities, which are quite severe, however It is only made one place in the world in Colorado.
How it was explained to me when I got mine was that it slows down the faster ear to the speed of the slower ear so that both ears receive information at the same time and the brain can process it.
Don't be fooled by the name of the organization, it works with teens and adults as well as kids. There is a waiting list.
