I recently got diagnosed and I realise why I was different, I feel like I am having upsetting feelings because of this and its made some things worse.
I don't feel as bad for when I had overloads and meltdowns, etc because I didn't understand what was happening but now I do.
Doctors thought it was anxiety but i kept saying i don't feel anxious or depressed, and got misdiagnosed countless times, tbh i kind of blame the health system.

I'm more aware of my autism and feel more different, I'm noticing when things get worse like sensory stuff and it helps to know but I'm thinking about it if it makes sense.

Mixed feelings are common after diagnosis. You have to allow your autistic brain to do what it needs to do to process this new explanation of your life.

Recently diagnosed as well and agree with AS. I'm finding that I'm noticing a lot more signs than I used to. On one hand, it's nerve wracking since I'm constantly learning how different I am. On the other hand, I feel like I can increasingly tackle life head on since I know what my strengths and weaknesses are. It gets better over time.

I felt the same but noticing these things also help with dealing with them. For instance, I used to melt down all the time but now I know what signs to look for and have been able to minimise the amount (simplifying my life has also helped a lot). Same goes for my sensory issues. Previously, I would have just ignored any discomfort or pain caused by light, heat and sound thinking that I was just being weak or stupid.

Yes that is completely whats happening to me,
I am discovering new things that I'm great at and staying away from things that aren't helping.
