I have one and it works a lot. It's the best sleep I've had in a long time.

There is a thread specifically about weighted blankets (i dont remember the name but "weighted blanket" would be a safe guess), if you want to learn more. I have posted on that thread.

I got one...it's nowhere near big enough, Child size and it still cost an insane amount of money to ship it from the states to the Netherlands (the weight of course).

But does it work? Works REALLY well. I wish my entire bed was made of these weird little pellets. they stay amazingly cool. I have been wondering if aluminum pellets might actually work better, it's applications in heat sinking are well known and if it were too cold I think it would be a simple issue to resolve through the addition of pellets of similar mass and differing thermal conductivity. heating pads have been in use for mycoculture for decades and might also be employed for temperature control of such a bed, the thermal energy would simply carry through and could be adjusted to user preference without any direct contact with the heating element at all....I should stop.

If you are going to order a bigger one I know that sensory direct in the UK makes weighted blankets, shipping from the UK is probably cheaper for you?

Just an FYI (and they have adult sized blankets)

I've been thinking about getting one but they seem so expensive.

I want to get one eventually. I can’t sleep unless I’m under a heavy blanket. I have to blast the air conditioning so I don’t get too hot, but I find the weight comforting.

I found one on ebay, I absolutely adore it, it really helps my sleep and relaxation. I was very unsure whether it was going to be worth the money, but it really was.

The person I ordered it from was less expensive that buying a ready made one, but since I ordered it they seem to have put their prices up. The biggest advantage I found on ebay was that I could get it made to order- the size and weight that was right for me and also choose the fabrics I liked! (I got elephants, I love elephants!)

I have a couple in different weights and fabrics, and I really love them. When I'm getting stressed or anxious, I lay the blanket out on the floor and roll myself in it like a burrito and just lie there, it feels amazing. I love hiding under it in a dark quiet spot to relieve sensory overload too, it works great. In fact, I spent a few hours under my blanket in my closet this afternoon and came out feeling much calmer and less frazzled and anxious. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who benefits even a little from deep proprioceptive input.

Since it too warm for blankets, I wish they have anxiety sheets.
