I mainly have this, when groups are walking behind me. I get a feeling of being looked at. Often I feel very nervous, and walk slower to let them pass. I wondered if someone else here got this? Could it be a part of Asd?
Thanks for your answers!

Yes, that's my experience too. I don't like to have dawdlers right in front of me either, and like to overtake them asap. Then they're behind me.....

Also not keen on having someone sitting directly behind or directly in front when on the bus.

I don't care if there are people behind me because I can't see them, plus I'm a fast walker. I hate people in dront of me if they are walking any slower than me. I don't like overtaking because for some reason I feel rude, not sure why.

I worry that I'm in their way when their behind me. When people are rite in front of me I worry that I'll make them uncomfortable & they'll think that I'm following them or watching them. This may be related but I've hated teachers standing rite next to me while taking tests or doing skewl work. I've struggled in skewl aLOT due to dyslexia & other related learning disabilities & my teachers would spend half their time up walking around by standing rite over me. i worry that I'll make others feel uncomfortable like that when I'm walking close by them. I guess it's an issue with personal space & anxiety.

That's how some like Cartman on South Park pronounce it

Same here. The more distance to other people the better lol. Also same with people directly in front of me, especially when the are slow walkers.

Sometimes when I‘m looking for a seat in a train, I only go to empty compartments, here in Switzerland they consist of four chairs facing each other. I think foreign trains are much better in that regard, with more privacy :(

I can relate to that.
I also didn‘t like teachers standing right next to me, made me very nervous. But someone watching or standing behind me is still the worst. Sometimes I get the feeling, that I walk weird, which of course is sometimes true. The problem is, that thinking about how to walk makes me walk like some clown lol.

I don't really have this much, if at all, but it is considered a "neurodiverse" trait on the Aspie Quiz. That doesn't mean that it is 100% credible, but it seems to be possibly associated with ASD somehow, albeit fairly loosely.

It makes me uncomfortable when people walk behind me, not because I'm paranoid but because I feel self-conscious and feel I have to walk at just the right pace. It also bothers me when people walk slowly in front of me, or when they walk toward me. Basically, I don't like to encounter people at all.

GAAA! Yes, I hate it! Both my son and myself are the same and, logically, the way around this problem is for us to walk abreast of each other. Unfortunately, I have this weird thing about inconveniencing others and hate to walk two-abreast as it forces other people to move further to get around you. This means a constant battle about who gets to walk in front :) When all four of us are walking, we look like a family of ducks!

I hate it when people walk/stand/sit behind me. It makes me terribly anxious.

^pretty much this although I always thought it was paranoia ( thought a lot of things were paranoia which actually turned out to be anxiety due to sensory issues ). If I wear headphones and drown out the world I barely have a problem.

I think it's a natural primal instinct to feel uncomfortable about this, since in a primitive setting it could be a foe or predatory animal stalking you. Whatever the case I don't like it.

I am unshure wether it's an aspie trait or not but I know exactly what you mean. I hate people walking behind me too but never understood why. As a child, when walking with my dad he would always tell me off and demand that I walk beside him and not behind him. I always like to be behind. When walking with friends too I will also only walk behind them and give a bit of distance between us so it looks as if I am not with them. They find it odd but I don't even understand why.

I can also be the same when driving. Myself and friends were traveling to Devon for a camping trip, 7 hour drive and I took my car and one friend took theirs due to space. We Had to follow eachother so he insisted I lead but I wouldn't, I had to be behind again as having people behind when driving also gives me the same feeling I get when walking with someone behind me.
