I really wish people would just say what they meant. I sometimes don't know when somebody is using sarcasm - I believe they're being earnest and come out looking like a fool for not knowing what that person was actually implying. This sometimes gets worse at work when supervisors use nothing but metaphors and sarcasm.

How much does sarcasm annoy you?

I can figure out it's sarcasm sometimes like when it's on TV & it doesn't bother me at all then. It can be alittle frustrating when I take it literally but it doesn't bother me too much.

I don't appreciate sarcasm not because "I don't get it"/"Can't figure it out", or that "I 'don't know' what you mean by 'opposing phrases' with 'off tones'".

The idea of not being straight to the point would be for an entirely different reason. Not just sarcasm alone.

I don't appreciate it because it's rude to me. Unless being rude about something IS funny. Plain and simple.
And if I'm being sarcastic, that's mainly why; intentionally being rude about something (not usually about or at someone -- though same intent, just different context/level).

I ignore people when they are sarcastic.

"Sarcasm" is my middle name.

It's usually really obvious when I use it, although it can be tricky online when you only have text.

Sarcasm is a double edged sword that more often than not eventually cuts the user. Say what you mean dammit because I'm going to take everything you say as if you do and that will make your life a living hell sooner or later if you're not being straight with me.

I managed to somewhat be able to recognize sarcasm, still far from good at recognizing it, it rather feels... unnecessary?
Anyways, the sarcasm i manage to reliably make that is recognizable as it will be very boring, at least to NT.

Sarcasm annoys me sometimes and delights me in other contexts. As an impediment to clear communication, it is a problem, but where I see the humour, it is often preferable, due to various social constraints.

One forum I was on that had yearly votes for various categories, voted me as the most sarcastic member. But I also got most helpful member, so I guess I know balance.

It’s just plain annoying.

Though I tolerate it within people I know.

I find sarcasm very fun, and often engage in it myself. I can see why most Aspies might dislike it though. Maybe it's because I read a lot of literature as a kid, and that made me comfortable with non-literal language.

But I can see how annoying it would be if that is the way your supervisor “communicates”.

I don't really like living under a sardonic/sarcastic atmosphere.

It just saps my spirit.
