People have asked on WP where to get a weighted blanket. Right now an infomercial has a Sharper Image weighted blanket for "three easy payments of $33" or in other words, a hundred bucks. Contact information is 1-800-329-4171 or http://www.calmingcomfortblanket.com

I don't mean this to be spam or an endorsement. I just know people want to know where to get these. Feel free to move it to a better section if there is one.

The blanket weights 15 pounds and there is a 99-night money back guarantee.

In the most respectful way possible, can I ask what the deal is about weighted blankets? Are they warmer or something? Cause Im definitely one of those people who has like ten blankets on top of my bed and pillows all around me cause I love waking up as a snugly burrito lol.

Warmer, yes and no. (Mine at least) takes a long time to warm up but when its warm it will stay warm for hours. I use mine under or on top of my normal blanket. In the summer a weighted blanket doesnt make you overheat.

It is just a heavy blanket.

The pressure of weights on most of your body supposedly feels like getting hugged/cuddled all over.

I mean, it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but supposedly it calms many autistics.

Yes, this is the reason. It's well documented fact. There are also weighted vests for the same purpose. For some, they prevent meltdowns, or calm them down from them. There is something soothing about the pressure.

I've never had a weighted blanket, but of the 3 pillows on my bed I prefer the heavy weighted one and often fall asleep with it on my chest.

I had no idea it existed and I wish I could find one of this now. I like to pile up blankets even when it's hot because otherwise I feel unprotected with a light blanket.

Well, if you've got a spare $100, the contact information is in my first post. I do not know if they ship internationally, however.

You could also Google "weighted blanket."

I haven't a clue as to why but people seem to be identifying with us.

I can't deal with the heat from doing this in summer. Perhaps it's that I've been cheap & stacked a few heavy normal ones.

15 lbs. would be for a smaller person. Most manufacturers will have weight charts based on your own body weight. Just FYI.
