Is this lack of focus anxiety, ADHD, or ASD?
for the record I'm diagnosed with ADHD and while I don't completely qualify rn for an ASD diagnosis, I had one as a kid.
I can't shift focus away from things that bother me. It's like an anxious obsession, in that it becomes so intense that I become anxious sometimes, or in that it comes out of anxiety. And I can't shift attention away from them.
Like right now I'm actually in a college class, typing this up on reddit instead of focusing. I don't think I have special interests, but I can get obsessed with a topic to the extent that I shut out others, or to the extent that in a class if I find something I like I'll only focus on that part of the class and relate everything else back to it.
My current obsession has been trying to decided if I have ASD or if its just hearing problems, ADHD, and anxiety, and honestly it's not calming or interesting, it's just mentally consuming and drawing out of my life and I can't pull myself out of it. Almost all of my "obsessions" are like this... I have interests but they don't nearly impinge on my daily life to this same extent.
Unless I don't really know what a special interest is...
