I have on several occasions, sometimes it could be to do with my behaviour. Sometimes it could be to do with something I’ve said.

Used to happen when I got extremely hyperactive as well. Used to as I don’t get hyper these days.

Unsurprisingly... yes. I have been called weird.

I might have a harder time thinking of instances I haven't been considered weird.

Many times.

I'm cool with it 8)

I'm not really a fan of people who aren't weird.

All the time. Mostly as a poor insult.

Yes, all the time. I began to feel better about it when my son's maths teacher wore a badge to parent's evening saying "Normal scares me". I'm with her.

All of the time when I was a school kid.

Lately I don't hear folks say it (at least not out loud)as often.

Though there was a memorable recent moment.

At my second job on weekends sometimes I am out in the field, sometimes I work in the office of the particular large small family business. During one of the office stints the boss, his son and I were all yakking during a lull. Then the phone rang, and the owner-boss answered it, and it was some kind of emergency in the field. The boss and son started to discuss it, and I asked what they were talking about. The room got a little uncomfortable because we had just switched from being just three equal guys yakking to reverting to our roles and ranks in the company because of the phone call. The boss was the general, and the son was the lieutenant, and I am back to being the lowly foot soldier. So everyone, including me, realized that the boss didn't really owe me a detailed explanation. But he didn't wanna be rude to me either. So he gotta kinda tongue tied trying to explain to me that some other guy had messed up out in the field without going into detail about how he messed up. Then the son jumped in.

The son said to me "well....lets just put it THIS way! You are NOT the ONLY weird person who works for us!"

I had no choice but to laugh, and to nod, and to accept that explanation. It was...all that I needed to know about the situation.

My classmates thought that I was weird when I was growing up. This girl in one of my classes in high school told me that she and some of the other girls thought I was weird.

I think most people think of me as weird these days. It shows in how they treat me. People tend to limit their interactions with me or they treat me like a child. Some people pretend not to know me. I never get beyond the acquaintance stage with anyone hardly ever.

Oh yes, very often.

My experience is that this is mostly just social etiquette. I have been told that I'm weird many times now by the young children of parents that I know. I find it quite amusing to see how the parents react if they are within earshot; they often go into a kind of "etiquette panic" where they're not quite sure how sternly to admonish the child for being so impertinent. My reaction is usually; "It's OK, I know I'm a bit weird".
