Hi,
I have developed all sort of pain issues recently, or at least they were diagnosed recently and I might have had them since my teens. Including: fibromyalgia (very uncommon among male people) IIH (also extremely uncommon among males, causes bad head and neck pain) and I sometimes get random pain at different points of my body which make no sense (no bruises or infections or anything) which go away on their own within a very short time.

I was wondering whether this is just another thing caused by asperger's and maybe I totally don't have fibro or IIH and just feel random pain due to hypersensitivity or something like that.

Possibly Aspie (diagnosed by an autism expert, doc moves abroad, forced to change docs and all say it's schizophrenia NOS or schizo-affective disorde or personality disorders. initial doc was a colleague of uncle Simon btw. you do the math.). (edit: by Uncle Simon I mean Simon Baron Cohen. Just to clear things up.)

I don't know if it's a common thing with AS, but I've had different kinds of pain my whole adult life. When I was a child I had stomacaches from time to time, but since my late teens I've had cronic muscle pain in my neck, shoulders and back along with headaces and migraines. I have tried a lot of different treatments but nothing seems to work. I suspect it is from the world being overwhelming in so many ways: sensory, social and by trying to manage life in general. I also suffer from nausea and stomac pain.

I also suspect that I am very sensitive to pain and discomfort and that stresses me and gives me anxiety.

I've been in pain since I was little, but never looked into it further.

I have had chronic pain from a young age and have been trying to figure out exactly what it is.

Some of it is malformed shoulder joints and knees that hyperextend but a lot of it is muscular. My neck and shoulder blades in particular are always knotted. It seems like there's never a moment at which something in my body does not hurt. Occasionally one of my shoulders seizes up and is completely unable to move without excruciating pain, a solid 9 on the standardized pain scale (10 meaning you are unconscious from the pain). It's called frozen shoulder and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I go get cortisone injections directly into the joint when I feel it coming on, which can stop it if caught in time.

Will be seeing a rheumatologist in the future to try and pin it down. I do have markers of generalized inflammation in my blood, along with plaque psoriasis and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I suspect other possible autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or systemic lupus as well and would like to be able to rule them out or confirm.

One of my doctors mentioned that autism and autoimmune diseases seem to go hand in hand, as so many of the ASD / Asperger's patients he sees also have autoimmune disorders of one kind or another and suffer resulting pain. It makes me question if perhaps there is a genetic link between the two.

I've had this. Chronic pains since I was about 13, in different places. Doctors were not very helpful, since nothing is medically wrong. I've had the most success with setting time aside to name my feelings each day. A lot of it is from stress and unacknowledged emotions.
