Buying my first house at 52 years old
It is late and it is difficult for me to write the words. I usually am better at written word than speaking. I have inattentive ADHD. I will explain that I have had difficulty with other people all my life. I have had difficulty in hearing / understanding other's speech. Trying to put words that I do understand into an comprehensive sense of understanding. My brain seems to work slowly. Other times my brain works too quickly for others to keep up. Overall, I am at a disadvantage with those around me in work and life.
I bought a house a year ago that I should not have purchased. My job demanded much of me at the time. My priority was keeping the job. The sacrifice was that I bought a house at full price that needed much repair. I am upset that I paid full price for this house. That my realtor did not act appropriately on my behalf. That I do not have the money to make the house fully appropriate. I am just learning what I can appreciate and enjoy as a person late in life. I have a good partner. I feel this house has become an anchor when it should be the center of enjoyment and finding friends to laugh with and cook for.
This is very vulnerable for me. I have artistic skills but have been locked in another vocation for a paycheck.

Sorry to hear of your "buyer's remorse" at paying full price for your house. But, as I understand where you live, the housing prices are going up in your area, which means that you aren't going to find many bargains. Rising prices are usually a good thing, as they allow you to sell the house for more than you paid, even if you haven't done anything to improve the property. Much better than buying a bargain and discovering that you can't sell it for what you paid because everyone is moving out of your town.
Buying a single family home was one of my better decisions. Much better than living in apartment and having to deal with the neighbors. Now that it is paid off my living expenses are very low and my credit rating is very high.
