You're not really alone. You're with your oldest friend, the one who will always be with you.

Maybe you'll get used to it, as I have.

I did one Christmas-related thing: drove around town, observing the empty parking lots, and the few places that were open--a Chinese restaurant, Walgreens, Denny's, and a gas station I'm sure some people really appreciated. There were cars clustered around them like mistletoe in a leafless oak tree.

An ambulance went by, but slowly, no lights or sirens, probably nobody in back. An airplane was flying overhead.

Sending you some of my peace,

tts

I had a roast dinner with my grandparents, so I can't say I was alone (though I am now), but I would have been fine with it if I had have been. It's 1800 now where I live, so I have the rest of the evening to myself :D

My girlfriend spent last night with her parents & is spending tonight there as well. We did the Christmas thing with her family Friday since the buses don't run today for obvious reason. I waited around all morning for a package after she left yesterday & then I went walking some & went to a store that was having a 50% off sale & bought something for me. I also ordered Domino's; I had a 20% off coupon that expired Christmas eve. I went walking today alittle bit too.

spent day with sister in town, traffic surprisingly heavy for today. ate a bit too much, chewed the fat with kinfolk. received care package with staple and custom foodstuffs in it :chef: good day in general. weather even cooperated for the most part, not too cold, mostly dry and sunny in places. searched for xmas light displays on way home after dark. dreading the new year as I usually do. I do NOT look forward to the new year's festivities, they are totally inane. what are all those danged fools celebrating?

I don't really connect with others so it doesn't matter. I would have been perfectly fine with just being in my room the whole day.

I was on my own Christmas Day from mid-morning onwards, daughter went to her mums. Didn't have a xmas dinner, just had what I'd normally have on a Tuesday. I wouldn't have wanted to have been in a room full of relatives but it was nevertheless a grim reminder of the situation I now find myself in. Glad it's over.

I had a very nice day. I had a wonderful dinner with my father and a friend of the family. It was a great day.

I drove in to my brother's house in Whitby, 100 or so kilometres from where I live in the afternoon. It's a nice visit especially with the dinner sister-in-law cooked up. Nieces were there as well. Then I left at 9PM to head back home. Their place was so noisy, so it was nice to hop back in the car to some peace & quiet.

And I just ignore New Year's. Can't handle the crowds of revellers. It is just another day to me.
