I'm new on the site and currently working my way around it, I want to talk about pretty much anything and I would really like to hear about some of the things you really like, doesn't matter the subject.

Disorders of the brain, currently. Mainly ASD, but I'm not picky. Also useless trivia.

There are other things I'm interested in. But those are things I enjoy doing, not discussing.

Early 2000's i discovered IT-forensics and started tinkering with that after having worked with IT for almost a decade. In the later 2000's i eventually became one for a few years doing network forensics (there are specializations inside like disk, memory, network, iot and mobile device forensics - few are good at more than one field). Now i'm a threathunter doing "proactive forensics" by looking at indicators and investigating events a few hours/days after the incident, instead of customers discovering that they have been hacked almost a year ago.

I also have preparedness and survival as a special interest with a focus on water purification which is THE most important thing. Unlike most people in that "field" i've been outside sleeping under the stars and practiced it.

Past or current? I haven't had a full-blown special interest in a while. I have had a few obsessions (which I categorize separately) over the last six months. Here are the highlights:

Special interests over the last few years:
1. A local historical figure
2. Cullman, Alabama
3. A meteorite from the nineteenth century
4. The Confederate government
5. Radio culture

Obsessions:
1. Anorexia
2. Toddler learning binders (Yeah, that was a weird one)
3. The downtown area in my city

Regular old interests:
1. Thomas Jefferson
2. Evolution

But overall... Henrician poet Sir Thomas Wyatt

Drugs.

Psychedelics, stimulants, dissociatives, depressants, sedatives, you name it.

I'm a huge fan of recreational and medicinal use of psychedelics. I would not be the person I am today without MDMA and LSD. It changed my life.

I enjoy using stimulants as a cognitive enhancer. Amphetamines (mostly dextroamphetamine) and methylphenidate are my go-to drugs for productivity, as well as nicotine (daily, I'm a hardcore nicotine addict) and caffeine (a few times on a biweekly basis to avoid tolerance). It helps a lot with my productivity. I sometimes imbibe in recreational stimulant use as well, nowadays mostly cocaine, but sometimes amphetamine as well. It should be noted, I don't find the "high" of amphetamines to be particularly interesting, it's more of a work-"drug" (or medicine, let's call it) for me.

I've spent countless hours browsing through Erowid and Psychonautwiki, and I'm a huge fan of general harm reduction and safety precautions regarding illicit (and legal) drug use. I want to learn more about the chemistry behind it, as well as pharmacodynamics.
