Just putting it out there.

It's factually correct and not misandrist to say it.

And I would not remove this thread if anyone complained about it being misandry.

This discussion would be closer to the mark if you were to say “there is a type of man that is a ’womankiller’” (such a label implies that the person’s sole role is harming or killing women) which would surely conjure up images in one’s mind of a physically abusive male. Since men are much more likely to be physically abusive than women and that misogyny continues to be such an ongoing problem in situations regarding domestic violence (especially physical and sexual abuse), linguistic comparisons are hardly accurate.

This isn’t to say that woman aren’t abusive but in the context of the OP there really is no comparison to the real problems (statistically) that women face in physically abusive scenarios.

I would have no qualms with a post discussing toxic people, but the word “Mankiller” for the problems listed is not appropriate.

Also, in the OP, referring to women as coin-operated entertainment systems objectifies women in a way that many on this site wouldn’t be comfortable with, especially if they’ve dealt with serious abuses (not just toxic behavior) themselves.

I changed the title so it is closer to the mark for you , it is still factually correct and not misandry to say it.

The other issues you have are not misogyny.

How is objectifying women by calling them coin-operated entertainment systems not misogynistic?

There's a term that might cause confusion: ladykiller.

Ladykiller does not imply any outright violence. It typically applies to a man who romances one woman after another, serially dumping the current one for a future one, or even having a stable of several, all in play at one time.

Your thread is obviously written to parallel "There is a kind of woman that is a man killer" and I think it means something different than the "ladykiller" word. You are implying not merely use-and-discard, but abuse (mentally, emotionally, financially, and/or physically).

I just wanted to make the distinction.

Coin operated entertainment systems? I did not see that! Ferris, did you go back and edit it out of your OP?

It wasn’t in his post but in the post he’s referencing that apparently isn’t misogynistic.

Nah , it was in this post viewtopic.php?f=3&t=375864#p8225559 which I edited with the OP's watered down version.

He called one woman that. The woman that made two men kill themselves if you believe the story.

Coin operated is also slang for a whore, prostitute ( sex worker if you're watching  ) or any person that accepts money , drugs or favours for sex . It is not feminine terminology , there are many coin operated entertainment systems who are men and I'm guessing any gender that exist.

I think people are missing the central point, perhaps lost in the de-nastified version!
This person was not really a woman, but a sociopath emulating one with great skill for reasons of personal revenge because of sexual abuse in child hood by a male family member("pestered" = molestation/rape).
"I said "man-killer" because she caused death.
Perhaps I should make the original avaiiable by PM.
And realize it was written in a seizure of rage and pain.
and besides, the original is an illustration of aspie anger. Examine the subtext under lying this thing.
any takers?
or publish in the "rant"or "adult" sections.
Also the sanitized version is an act of satire on the original.
"coin operated entertainment system "=
ahhh, I think it should be published intact to adult users, embellished with appropriate warnings, because it really i a fine piece of overwrought invective.
Mod willing, of course. long furry mammal approved.
