I always hear they make you dress up when you go to court. What if you have sensory issues and can only wear clothes that are not "court friendly"? Watching this real life attorney analyzing how "realistic" the show Phoenix Wright is and the client was wearing the same clothes he wore the day of the murder. The attorney says, "You'd never go to court with a T-shirt, crazy hair and a goatee! You want to dress them up a little bit so they don't look like a hooligan." Then a caption "Dress for the job you want. Not the prison cell you have". (And I'm pretty sure that's a topic for another discussion).
With all these stories of autistic people being arrested, I wonder how the judge would react to an autistic person with SEVERE sensory processing issues and COULD NOT wear what society deems as proper court attire.
