Note the mention of Autism in the article. There's a reason for this. I've been tellin' y'all about it for 6 years & counting now. Nice to see that Doctors & researchers are advancing this field of medicine now. In time, many treatments will be developed to treat many "mental," and "neurological," diagnoses that are actually rooted in our guts. IMO.

Yes, the gut microbiome in our digestive tract really does influence our mental and physical health. This has been known for decades, if not centuries. But only now the standard western medical system notices it..

To improve the microbe composition/gut flora inside our digestive system, however, invasive procedures are not necessary. You simply change the foundation of your eating habits.

Lifestyle change from inflammation-causing Meats and Animal products, to a healthy and balanced Whole-Food Plant-Based Diet is more affordable, can be done immediately, and has no side effects, unlike an invasive procedure, operation, or drugs.

Fix your stomach.. Improve your mental & physical health.

What I am trying to figure out is how you are going to work fecal matter into your diet :D

I'm not.. but for the sake of science & self experimentation, I wouldn't rule out doing a fecal transplant from an ultra socially successful donor.

You don’t need to eat feces, of course most people wouldn’t because it’s considered disgusting.

You also don’t need to get any operation.

You change what foods you eat.

Sorry but I got Aspergers, I don’t understand normal humor :D

Btw, your thread got me interested since I also have a similar opinion to you. So I dug up an older thread, which talked about diet, digestive system, and Autism.. I posted some links and videos in there too. Hopefully the information can help you out too.

This reminds me of an episode of The Nature of Things I saw a while back, I'll see if I can find it...

Yup, this is it-- The Nature of Things: It Takes Guts

Quote:
" Eat less, move more. That’s been the mantra of the weight loss movement for decades. But as those who have fought the battle of the bulge will tell you, there’s a lot more to obesity than just too much junk food or too little willpower. Even when genes are taken into account, scientists have struggled to explain why one person can eat cake and stay skinny, while another munches on carrots and can’t shed a pound.

Now, exciting new research reveals there is a missing piece to the obesity puzzle, one that is highly complex and intensely personal: gut microbes.

Inside our intestines, there’s an entire ecosystem – our own “inner rainforest” - made up of microorganisms so small that millions could fit into the eye of a needle. But these tiny bugs that live in our gut are proving key to human health and the obesity epidemic."

Seems like there is a lot of research being conducted right now into the gut biome and its effects on our health. Interesting topic, I am curious to see what we learn from the research being done.

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHH!! !

:wall:

Human feces are full of all kinds of dangerous bacteria and it's repulsive and this is all a bunch of quack doctor garbage. That's probably what they'll be telling us to eat next. Literal garbage! Fermented bean curd and milk are supposed to be good for you, so why not just eat right out of the trash where it's been naturally aged like we're all a bunch of homeless people?!? :D

Stop the world, I want to get off.

There are many, many different species of bacteria and fungi. Some are pathogenic (do harm to human tissue and organ systems) and some are neutral, and some are beneficial (promote digestion or immune system health). There's no need to be alarmist about microbial research.

Sorry but you are imagining things.

NOBODY at all is seriously suggesting to eat poop!

The poster of this thread put a link to the first article above which suggested to get a fecal transplant to improve your gut microbiome. So it said to get a medical operation. Not to eat poop.

But I really disagree with that article about how to improve your gut microbiome.

You do NOT need a medical operation. No pills or drugs.

*You need to fundamentally change what foods you eat.

Change your foods from highly inflammation-causing foods like meats and sweets, to healthier non-inflammatory foods.. Particularly the Cruciferous Family of vegetables: (ie. broccoli, cabbage, collards, brussel sprouts, mustard greens, etc) which contains Sulforaphane. Broccoli Sprouts has the highest levels.

Plus stop drinking cows milk and dairy products, anything that contains Casein which increases Autism symptoms. And stay away from any wheat Gluten. Eat gluten free foods.

That’s it.

1. Do NOT drink cow milk or eat dairy, to eliminate Casein.
2. Do NOT eat any wheat Gluten, eat Gluten-Free grain foods.
3. DO eat lots of Cruciferous Vegetables everyday, to get Sulforaphane.

This is how to positively change your Gut Microbiome. Really. No s**t. :)

Does it work??

Yes, it does. I got good result. And studies show other people do too.
