Is this an autistic thing?

Every time I go out, I find the rest of the afternoon restless and unable to get back into my routine again. It's like there's a big reserve of energy in me and I can't just focus on my regular stuff.

How do I stop it? I find it annoying.

Maybe have lunch or dinner? Take a sort of a break?

Yeah it's like that with me.

And if I have a meal it just worsens because I'm not doing my regular stuff.

I'm that way anytime there is a disruption in my routines. I usually get back on track when I am back on my schedule.

I am usually drained, not fidgety/too much energy, but maybe having a purposeful ritual you create as your "bridge" back to your schedule? For me, I usually get a snack and something to drink and sit on the couch and eat it when I get home too exhausted. Maybe you would find something like that calming? Especially if it was your "official bridge back to routine" activity.
