I like to laugh and spend lots of time thinking of funny and ridiculous stuff - especially conversations and social situations. It probably had its start in being perpetually bored as a kid by having to sit through religious programs that lasted for 3-4 days.

I actually thought that everyone does this sort of thing, but my mom says that she doesn’t find any need to amuse herself.

I enjoy it, but I find that it doesn’t always translate, so I tend to keep it to myself.

Have you been told that you have a quirky or odd sense of humor?

I wish I did....if I did have a quirky sense of humor, I might have done better socially back in high school.

In person, I tend to keep it to myself although I come out with something occasionally that surprises people and makes them laugh.

Yes I've been told I have a quirky/odd sense of humor. Sometimes I've expressed it here with most not getting it.

I have learnt to use my sense of humour in ways to cover my inability to socialize. My humour is my number one communication tool and I also use it in a masking sort of way in that by acting slightly thick and combining it with humour, people will communicate with me (It often gets them chatting first to start the conversation) where otherwize I would sit there quietly and say nothing at all feeling very nuvous and almost difficult.
I have often been told I should be a commedian but I usually say "I can't change colour". (Is one of my jokes). The problem is that when masking, the times of unmasking I am very withdrawn... Sometimes I can unmask and be my normal self but it usually comes after many years of being in the same enviroment. It usually comes after first a few years of acting thick with tremendous humour, and then being unmasked and picked on, and then... I pick up the pieces and be me... But is not often.

I tend to have a dry sarcasm. A person told me once my humor tends to go over people's heads, although I disagree and think it just doesn't come across as funny to a lot of people. I've improved with age.

I also like jokes in which the recipient is clueless. I don't feel the need to include you in the humor and actually take a strange satisfaction never revealing the humor to you. It may be you asking me a question and I deliver a satirical response with as blunt and sincere expression as possible. I find it to be a great exercise in wit and deception, although I am honest 99.9% of the time and would never do this on a serious matter. It's an occasional joke for my enjoyment.

I tend to struggle with getting into group humor. I have had many moments of forcing laughter and smiles at humor around me. Also, I get anxiety when I realize someone is telling me a joke and I know I have to express the proper reaction. It's worse when it's personal like that because people take it poorly if you don't reciprocate positive emotions as expected.

Also r/prequelmemes is golden. Star Wars was an obsession as a child and I never quite outgrew it. When I was around 10 I would sit in my room and recite every line of dialogue from the Phantom Menace from memory. It's the perfect subreddit for me.

Not tangibly. It's sort of like an aura which appears to some people----but doesn't appear to other people.

Now this is how I describe my humour... Something like this at times.

When I was in collage I was described as a cross between Mr Bean and Frank Spencer.

I use ironic and dark humor, and I twist reality.

These are from a paper I wrote for one of my psych classes:

Quote:
It’s a good thing the horse was beautiful, because the hunter in me saw its big, muscular body and wondered if we could fit all of it in the freezer.

Quote:
However, after I healed, he kicked at me again; I thought that maybe he was still upset, so I let him cool off. After another week, on my birthday, I ran outside in excitement and jumped on his back - big mistake! He and I went on the ride of our lives! At least I will never forget that birthday, but it’s also what keeps me up at night – I can’t forget that birthday! In the end, many times I’d been: thrown off by my horse, bitten by my horse, kicked by my horse, and once terrorized by my horse. I’m not a fast learner, but I finally realized: I’m not sadistic enough to own a horse, so I got a cat.

Quote:
They focused on retraining the horses to not chew on the trainers or on the horses’ crossties – clearly a sign of masochism on the horses’ parts, and perhaps bondage on the trainers’ parts. Inadvertently, one horse increased its frequency of pawing. This shows that horses can be trained for landscaping, or if left in one area long enough, to dig a well.

... And no, I'm not schizo*.

Yes, I do. I like to use a lot of plays on words. In the dark humor thread, I used the term "anti-Istomin shots," when describing Istomin's victory over Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open.

Nope.
Not at all.
I'm straight down the line, except for the kinky bit at the end. 8O

I can't recall making a single joke in my entire life. <think> <think harder>

Which reminds me of sex, since someone in another post complained about it.

Q: Why did the Irishman wear 2 condoms?
A: To be sure, to be sure.

I have a dry, weird and even sick sense of humor. I can't post something I thought of today on my walk that made me giggle out loud because this topic isn't posted in the adult section.
