Hello
i was wondering if anyone had any experience of doctors prescribing alprazolam for sensory overload meltdowns
and if so, what their review of using the drug for this purpose.

I also wondered if anyone had any good reviews for any other meds apart from SSRI's or AntiPsychotics

I use Valium and/or Vistaril (hydroxyzine) for sensory overload, along with a dark, quiet room. I have these drugs for GAD, but only a doctor really knowledgeable about ASD would give them for reasons specific to it.

I use Xanax (alprazolam) and it works for me to avoid meltdowns.
