When I was a teen I never went through that typical teenager phase. You know the whole "my parents don't know anything"/"oh my gosh, your so annoying" phase. I guess I missed the memo. My brother (most likely on the spectrum) was the same way. Are there any other aspies out there who were the same way?

I was one of them. In fact, one thing I cared about during my high school years was fitting in.

In the years after I graduated high school, I became glad that I hardly had any friends during those four years of hell. In fact, many of my peers were hipster-wannabes, punk-rocker types, and/or people who just took themselves too seriously.

I'm mainly wondering about the parent- child/teen relationship.

I was on the Spectrum most of time.

The clues were there but I ignored them

As for my parent/child relationship I think I was the model child until I discovered booze

I was a good student, but didn't have very many friends. I never did very much of a social nature.

I am making up for it now.

I also never had that stage, my parents have always been the people I trust most and am most open with. But when I was a teenager, I was extremely shy, about as close to reclusive as I could be while still going to school. I spoke as little as I possibly could, for the most part. I did pretty well in school, but other than that I pretty much spent life in one fantasy world or another, only coming out when I absolutely had to. I also had severe depression for much of my teenage years, so bad that I don't even remember large parts of it. I isolated myself from my parents for a while, but I was also isolating myself from everyone else.

I did have unhealthy crushes/obsessions with older men, but my parents were protective and good at chastising me, so I didn't go out of control.

Despite that, I could also act like a big baby when I was in my early teens, which was highly embarrassing. I remember once when I was 15 I wanted my mum's attention while she was busy, so I sat on the stairs giggling stupidly, just to annoy her and get a reaction.

I was something of a klutz in my elementary and junior high days and wasn't athletic at all. I never dreamed that, at 50, I would begin taking tennis lessons and now, four years later, I'm doing well enough to really enjoy tennis. I had been watching professional tennis for ten years before that, but never played the game myself. I can appreciate what my favorite players (and even those who aren't my favorites among the top players) do even more.

I was somewhat difficult from 12-14. My parents and I fought a lot. I was very headstrong and didn’t want to follow rules I thought were ridiculous. They did have stupid rules, though, so the problem wasn’t entirely on my end.

Once I turned 15, I realized that it was easier just to go long with what they said, so things went smoother after that.

We fought a lot again when I was in my 20’s, but now my parents have found that it’s easier to just let me be so things are going more smoothly. :P

I definitely went through that phase.
I also went through that phase where everything about my folks, including being seen with them, was very embarrassing.

And that despite having a very good relationship with my mom all my life. I think most people do have those phases though. It's just part of being growing up.

I never lacked understanding of danger like some kids, and I never acted too recklessly.

I was a strange mix of mostly obedient but also did some things I knew I wasn't allowed and kept quiet about it of course, and I could definitely be argumentative and talk back when the mood hit me or I thought something didn't make sense/ felt treated too young etc.
A pretty normal mix actually, I think; at least that the impression I have based on what I've seen and heard.
