You may me oversensitive because of autism but as the problem is only about your knees (and elbows to lesser extent, right?), there is likely something wrong there to check.
I imagine, without hypersensitivity one would simply complain about soreness and get checked.
Just an X-ray when I sprained my knee. The doctor was an idiot and didn't realize it was a sprain but thought it was an injury to the "growth plate". My knees aren't usually sore and as long as they are bent, they can be touched until the cows come home. I've never had an MRI or CT scan or anything like that. But if I ever need knee surgery, I'm just having my legs amputated. It's THAT bad.
