Bad at remembering things when spoken, much prefer for things to be written down .

Yes... but I don't think it's memory with me, it's because I'm not actually listening/concentrating on what's being said. My brain's gone back to stand-by mode before they've finished the first sentence.

Yes. And I also mishear and misremember things, too. :|

It's mainly depends on which executive function level I currently have
With the best gets 'better than average' listening skills, to worst that would mean I even mishear and misremembered what I just said.

Yes, because I'm the type of person who learns best by writing things down.

I was lost track of what my ASD-specialty counselor was saying and debated whether to interrupt her and say so, but decided to refocus my attention - it took me a bit but I think I got the last part, maybe.

Oh yes, and it causes me some problems at work. They try to train people on new procedures sometimes by just getting everyone together in a big impromptu group and giving a rapid explanation. This seems to work fine for everyone else, while I am just frantically taking notes on whatever piece of paper I could grab in time, and hoping the notes will make sense later. Or someone will individually show me how to do something, but get impatient because I want to write the steps down as I go.

Yep, I absolutely need to have written instructions to look back at. I realized also that the act of writing things down helps me remember them better. But only hearing things spoken is the way I am least likely to remember them, at least in part due to my auditory processing issues.

How I find things... Umm. I am ok at remembering if someone tells me to tell someone some short message where I just walk over and tell them, but if the message is complex, or if I have to tell it when I have to do other things first, or someone else talks to me as well, it does not work so well! I have to write it down.
