I read that autistic people often form strong attachments to objects.

I thought, nah, that's not me, not since I gave up my dolls at the age of 14.

But on Friday I got a new sofa.

I love my new sofa. I don't sit on it. I just take pictures of it. Nothing gross, I just really, really like it!

Does anyone else feel that way about objects?

Yes, absolutely. For me it tends to be stuff that sparkles. (Someone called me a magpie because of this.)
When younger I used to carry around specific objects, everywhere. Some things I created whole storylines for.

So don't think you're alone!

Yes, I feel that way about my bicycles. Ideally, I'd like to hang them on the walls in place of pictures.

As for my other possession , I occasionally have the urge to purge, sell everything and head off for months of riding.
