The unmasked me is very childlike in many ways, but also insecure and vunerable... Is this normal? Is this who I would be if I unmask? Does this make sense at all?

It makes a lot of sense.
Unmasking means lowering the defenses you used to employ for most of your life. How can one not feel vulnerable in such a moment?

I'm the same, I feel vulnerable and like a prey animal unmasked

Very. I feel naked and helpless. I'm really only completely unmasked when I'm completely alone, for that reason

I notice that when the masking breaks down due to being rather fragile at the moment, I do silly child like things. Things which normal adults don't do. Silly little things... I can't explain.. Uhmmm. Things like letting my fingers tingle along a wall as I walk past and things like that.
