For any aspies here who have paracosms/engage in immersive daydreaming:

1. Do you find it easy to "lose yourself" in them (i.e. enjoy or becoming the different characters in them)?

2. Does anyone else especially enjoy "playing" the antagonists?

Most of things I daydreamed were based on what happened in an online spaces with most of living online friends and acquaintances in it. It's mainly just memory recollection loop spiced up and with certain edits on the tone.
It'll be boring if most of those daydreams are just, text logs and bubbles. I do daydream real life stuff too sometimes, I just don't have to do it a lot because I'm already here.
Of course hypothetical situations do exists too as it is a daydream.

But sure did antagonistic roles. Because it happened already. It was quite a turn, too.

In general, I don't go deep in my daydreams be it based on an existing living memory or entirely fictional.
Doesn't matter how much I could control my mind and the inclination to indulge; mental distractions would likely slow me down.

So I'm working on how to 'afford' the mental weight of temporary distractions or 'drop' the whole thing completely.

I don't know what those technical terms are, but I am always daydreaming... I sometimes live in a secondary world... Haha! I mean... Uhmmm. I am not delusional. I am quite sane. Just always been a daydreamer.
My inner mind works in pictures... So daydreaming is natural.

Paracosm - that is a strange word. Had to look it up. A paracosm is a detailed imaginary world. Paracosms are thought generally to originate in childhood and to have one or numerous creators. The creator of a paracosm has a complex and deeply felt relationship with this subjective universe, which may incorporate real-world or imaginary characters and conventions.

So yes I have a paracosm. But it is more like an entire universe. Very expansive both in space and time. When I was young I daydreams quite a bit. But now that I am old, I just dream at night. Every night the story expands weaving in more mysteries and oddities. It is like a making a quilt.

I am the main character and I do not become different characters. Maybe that is not completely true because I often also am many of the secondary characters. Generally I am not the antagonists.

When I was younger I used to imagine all sorts of very elaborate fantasy worlds. In most cases (with some exceptions), I myself was not one of the characters, though. It was like watching a long 3-D movie series in my head. I had a variety of such fantasies, not just one, although some of them would go on for years.

Absolutely!!

I've done this since childhood. I think my daydreaming started as a kind of escapism to deal with the confusion of the real world. My mind readily creates very detailed expansive imaginary worlds. My own children love this as I can make up immersive epic stories for them at bedtime which they really enjoy. Yes, I do find I get lost in my world and characters. I thoroughly enjoy "living" as both my antagonists and protagonists. Their lives are much more exciting that my own.

But, I've found my daydreaming can also can have a dark side. Often my imaginary worlds become more real and important than the tangible world. Particularly if I'm stressed, I get thoroughly lost in them. They take on a life of their own and some have become obsessions. Also, sometimes these worlds become very very dark and I'm traumatised by my own imagination.

Yes to both!
It has faded with age, however.
