Do you have imaginary 'NT-style' social encounters?

I often find myself imagining social encounters/conversations with people I know whereby I act in a non-autistic way. For some reason I seem to be capable of imagining how a non-autistic version of myself could act in a particular social situation but of course in reality it never happens like that! It seems like I have a need to act out these NT-style interactions in my head to try to make up for the fact that I am apparently incapable of making them happen in reality. Does this ring any bells with anyone else?
