Ever had someone call the police over a sensory breakdown?

And guess what, years after they put me in partially the same situation that precipitated the breakdown, with the added bonus of attempted financial destruction as a cherry on top, and random times when bathroom doors get stuck, because why not!

This happened to me once. I was involuntarily detained in a psychiatric hospital for four days because of it.

Me too. Twice. I was in for three days the first time. The second time, they did not keep me once they realized that they had made a mistake.

Pretty sure you said before that you were throwing objects at workers...and were thinking about going outside and brandishing your axe at cars that drive by and maybe chopping them. I mean if you are doing things that put others in danger then yes someone is likely to call the cops regardless of the reason for the behavior.

Whom are you writing this to?

If you are writing it to me, you are mistaking me for someone else. I have never said anything like this, I have never done anything like this, I have never said that I would like to do anything like this, and I don't own an axe.

This never happened with me, but it's one of my worst fears. I've had situations where I've struggled to verbalize certain things, and it's harder to get the words out. I've also been warned that once you are past age 18, the police get stricter and less forgiving depending on the severity of the behavior. I personally don't get violent, but people often misunderstand asd coping mechanisms.

It's more like an inburst than an outburst but people who don't understand make false assumptions. I've had acquaintances and some friends who have had trouble with the police due to things relating to disabilities.

That sounds really scary. I've never gotten in trouble with police for a meltdown, but I had several close encounters with police for climbing things.

Short answer: No and maybe never.

From where I live... Highly likely completely unheard of.
Drunken or violence under influnce, yes. Certain concerning noises, maybe.

But sensory meltdowns? At worst anyone could just be kicked out or told to be quiet/calm somewhere, but never called the police over.

So it's something I never imagined, never dreamed of it, and never had to worry about ever happening.
Therefore it never entered within the realm of possibility in my case, no matter how highly likely it seem to be portrayed.

Even if I or anyone else happened to be a severe, constantly triggered and violent case, it may never happen in one's whole life even -- because it's the culture here figures it's family's and/or caretakers' responsibility, not the police's nor any law enforcement's otherwise it'll be considered inhumane.

Only and only in extreme situations where anyone is in real danger or harm and cannot be solved without professional intervention or heavy equipments. Like, say, subjected to drowning or falling in heights.
As opposed to, say, merely loud, violent fits and weird behaviors that anyone could've easily stop or even ignore.
