Is talking too fast have to do with Aspergers? Alot of people can talk too fast, it can hurt my head trying to understand people, my brain can shut off.

I often talk too fast. The faster I talk, the faster are my thought processes. So I can give a lot of complicated informations/ideas. I don't know if it's an Asperger thing, but it's spontaneous.

I think tempo, struggling with things such as speed, volume, etc. can be connected to ASD and disabilities. I tend to talk really fast when I'm excited. I have a quieter voice and I've been cut off in the past, so I guess talking fast has come out of a fear that people won't let me finish. I am also a slow processor so there are times I talk abnormally slow because I'm struggling to piece my words together on the spot. There's little-to-no middle ground for me.

I’m a slow processor and tend to talk at an average to slightly-slower-than-average speed. I can’t process all of what someone is saying if they’re talking to me really fast.

I too have been told that I talk quickly.

The other say someone said that actually, followed up by suggesting that I am "Surprisingly articulate for being from [insert my hometown here]".

Somehow I feel double insulted by this. Hard to explain why.

Being spoken to slowly can feel incredibly condescending. I wish more people would speak a bit faster, esp automated systems. It's difficult to not tune out when ev.er.y poss.ib.le syll.a.ble is sooo spread out. I tend to speak more quickly than others, altho not nearly as fast as I did twenty years ago by far.

I’m a fast talker. I stutter and I clutter.

I talk fast, too, and stutter sometimes but not as often as I used to. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve consciously worked on slowing down although it still happens when I’m nervous.

It’s not really a stutter. It’s more like having a momentary lapse in how to say what I want to say and words coming out garbled as a result.

I’m sure that it would be really tough to grow up with a true stutter. Kids can be so cruel about that sort of thing.

I talk pretty slow and have word-finding difficulties. I process information from other people more slowly as well.
