Hi everyone, its me Spede here again!

Do you guys remember when I was worried that I might have fragile-x?

Well, few months ago I went into a complete blood count test, and The results of my test said that my blood count is normal.

So my blood count is normal, does that mean I cannot have fragile-x syndrome?

Sorry about my bad english.

"Fragile-X" would not likely show up under a Complete Blood Count test, but only under an analysis of one or both of the 23rd chromosomal pair. The fragile X abnormality is determined by analysis of the number of CGG repeats using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and methylation status using Southern blot analysis. By determining the number of CGG repeats on the X chromosome, this method allows for more accurate assessment of risk for premutation carriers in terms of their own risk of fragile X associated syndromes, as well as their risk of having affected children. Because this method only tests for expansion of the CGG repeat, individuals with FXS due to mis-sense mutations or deletions involving FMR1 will not be diagnosed using this test and should therefore undergo sequencing of the FMR1 gene if there is clinical suspicion of FXS.

You should ask your physician!!

Fnord is right. Your blood tests won't show fragile x. For that your primary care doctor needs to refer you to a geneticist, or a similar specialty.

I'm probably gonna end my life If it turns out that I have fragile-x.

Please don’t!! !! Your life is precious! Is there someone you can talk to? Do you have a counselor/therapist? What did your doctor say?

I don't have anybody who can I talk to, except my doctor.

But If I have fragile-x syndrome it doesn't matter, because she cannot cure it.

Why end your life? What is so horrible about fragile x making it worse than, say, autism. Symptoms are generally less severe in females. Your IQ isn't going to change with a diagnosis. What bothers you about fragile X?

You probably don't have Fragile-X.

Most people with Fragile-X wouldn't be able to write articulate posts like you do.

Even if you happen to have Fragile-X, it's obvious that it didn't cause any intellectual disability.

@Spede: Consult your physician, regarding both your fears of Fragile-X and your suicidal thoughts.

We cannot help you with either one.

Is it even possible to have normal iq and fragile-x at the same time?

It’s possible....but it’s rare.

According to the CDC, the average IQs for males with Fragile X is under 55.

Females are usually less affected...but they usually have intellectual disability as well.

Yes, it's true. Don't you know how to use Google or Wikipedia?

Actually yes, I know how to use Google and Wikipedia. I'm just too worried about this.
