I have a new peer support (a person that works for mental health that has a diagnosis themselves) and in front of family members she blurts out "I heard your autistic and are really talented, that's great!"
It wasn't a problem because I told them my new dx already, but in other cases this could be a problem... Should I address it with the lady, tell mental health, or let it slide?
I hate it when people do this, even though they usually mean well. I hate my diagnosis being broadcasted to everyone, because I do not let my diagnosis define me. I am Joe90, not my diagnosis. My diagnosis is just something sh***y I did not ask for and am doomed to live with forever.
