I don't know if I'll ever reach a point when I'm sufficiently insane to be able to do this, but it seems like every single BOOM, destroys something in my mind... and if they're destroying me why can't I destroy them?

Who's destroying you? You'll have to be more specific if you are looking for help.

To the question: there are absolutely circumstances under which I would demolish a vehicle, and if an axe was the only thing available, that's what I'd use. I can think of worse options, frankly.

To the thread in general:...what?

To salvage large sheets of metal from car roofs, an axe was the preferred tool of one group building a dome. However, an axe is dangerous to a user who is not calm. When my environment becomes too noisy for reliable sleeping, I leave to save my sanity, using a camperized car. When I hear a car alarm, I am quite indifferent to who shuts it off, thief or owner, so I don't watch.

I would.

But given the circumstances, I can't afford it.
So I'd go for an alternative, just as violent or intensive, just as loud and just as destructive or just as impacting in my system -- just less expensive and definitely with less consequences.

Since you're not being clear, I'm just gonna jump off the same way;
For each trigger and overwhelm, I wouldn't rise shields or fire.
Shields just creates more shockwaves and resistance, and therefore more damage and energy spent. Firing ammos just.. Wouldn't do well.
But if the shields or the targeting and firing systems are automatic, I'd just find out why there are shields raising or weapons firing without my conscious command -- so this means some automatic defense system deep within.

Either I have to disable that system by overriding or convince it to shut down.

The former while instantaneous, it's short term with devastating consequences. Fortunately or unfortunately, I can't afford it and therefore I have to work without this luxury.
The latter can either be just mindset and attitude (requires commitment and practice), change of mood (short-term) or hormones (which may take a while and expensive), to either changes of lifestyle by avoidance (not recommended) or overcome it completely by telling the system to erase it from the obscure 'threat list' (could be many things).

But yeah, a defense system that tries to destroy or trying to protect itself from something that isn't actually threatening, or self destruction for it's perseverance is... Eh. :|

Subconscious logics. Emotional physics.
It makes crazy sense to senseless, but this is actually a serious remark -- I've yet to translate something abstract and intangible to something more concrete.

Actually...wouldnt a sledgehammer be better for a car?

Axes are better for demolishing pianos, and wooden furniture. :D

If that's what he's talking about then I very much sympathize with him.

Okay.

If I had a neighbor who drove one of those rolling boom boxes I would probably have the urge to vandalize the vehicle too.

Or, if they're in the USA, the 4th of July fireworks.

Yeah, I agree, a sledgehammer is a better way to destroy a car. Better be an old junker you bought for the purpose, though.

This made me think of Street Fighter. No axe required.

Strange. Spell check wants me to spell it "ax". Is this a UK English vs American English thing?

I'd assume you're using mobile...
:o Depends on your phone -- my English spelling suggestions can learn words, and isn't very spelling strict or specific on English by itself...

Suggesting of spelling 'ax' means your spelling is more likely set on American English.

Whaling on a car can be very therapeutic. I was having a very bad day years back and was very close to a meltdown. So, it just happened that a good friend of mine managed an auto salvage yard locally where I lived. I drove out there, took my metal PR-24 police baton, and walked to the back of the yard where the "crush pile" was (yeah I had free unrestricted access to all sections of the yard). Well, there was a old Ford Escort at the side of the crush pile with a blown engine that had seen better days waiting to be crushed the next day. I beat the living crap out of that car over a period of about 30 minutes or so. I felt SO much better at the end of that excursion, even though my muscles ached and my metal baton after that (and to this day) was very scratched up and had a bunch of minor gouges. There wasn't a straight piece of metal left on that thing when I was done with it. The yard employees were on lunch, so no witnesses!

Sorta like primal scream therapy except there be destruction involved!

No, but one time I accidentally crushed a car with a tree. I cut a tree down, but the tree was very dead and broke apart in the fall and crushed my car flat.

But I guess you could effectively destroy a car by cutting the tree with an axe instead of a chainsaw. But I do not know why you would want to go to the trouble. It is just easier to call a junk yard and have your car towed.
