Ode to WP – The Christmas Edition

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the ‘verse,
Not a creature was stirring, no horse, coach or hearse!
For Corona had scattered throughout all the land,
As Fungusgirl muttered “Now, this is quite out of hand …”

But call all ye WPers, our spirits so strong,
We’ve sent out our message, so clear for so long.
We’ll not be divided, we’ll not turn our backs,
And lay down defeated, we’ve known worse, that’s fact!

Come gather ye faithful, come now, let’s join forces,
For tis ain’t yet midnight, we’ve hearts and resources.
With WP chatter and well-wishers too,
the kind that I’m sending from me just to you!

For we shall not go quietly into the night,
It wouldn’t be good and it wouldn’t be right.
No matter the issue, no matter who’s falling,
We’ll take up the banner, and lift spirits calling.

Kitestrainsandcats gathers his almighty strength,
He’s plotted a course for a gathering at length.
That binds us together and strengthens the bond,
Our dear sweet Aurora of whom we’re all fond…

She and Feyokien are doing their part,
They’re guiding us faithfully, leading with heart.
Joe, Ivpin, Redd_Kross, seventhreeone,
Are serving up eggnog, cocktails n puns.

Jimmy and Jakki, our firemonkey too
Are starting a bonfire, cyberdad, Bloo.
Fnord dons a tutu, Udinaas whistles,
Kraftie is howling and blowing us kisses.

Imhatahata celebrates freedom at last,
friedchickenfuelsme and freewaydog laughs.
Pepe and Rexi, Boo and Star Trekker,
OkaySometimes and discofrog gestures.

Venetum, malavois, BlackSky n Rawbot,
Have started to boogie, have started to trainspot …
MG’s Locomotion is now in full swing,
Milkster , Deepster and Jakki dancing.

Teach, Mrs Peel and IndigoDoll,
Are handing out rumballs, hot chocolate. Skol!
Urns of gluehwein are doing the rounds,
There’s such happy chatter, animated sounds!

This night there’s no chaos, pure joy at the heart,
As this course was plotted with fun from the start.
We are united, in luckycharm’s folly.

Are hanging up mistletoe, pawelk helps Saul.

Cornflake and Timmy, timf and aet,
Shutterbug, Jacob, have only just met.

Dorkseid, Kathulhu, our dear skiddlebugz
Are toasting marshmallows and giving joint hugz
To all who may need one, and drawing a crowd,
While MissLizard, idntonkw looks on quite proud.

To be part of something that matters, that cares.
StayFrosty mists up, hobojungle prepares …

Strawberryblonde thinks that this feels like Heaven!

For everyone’s doing the one thing that matters,
Coming together, no matter how scattered.
Knowing that each moment counts in this life,
No matter the burden, no matter the strife.

FuneralX is rapping ‘bout seveneleven.
CubsBullsBears, Cornflake are starting to prance,
Like elves on a fullmoon, cue ApicalApe’s dance!

AprilViolets snickers as FleaoftheChill
Balances Gamecube and Mona at will.
Hurtloam is in awe of XFilesGeek’s strength,
She sends virtual hugs for her loss and attempts …

To make this night endless, don’t want it to end …
Gingerpickles backflips, Wittgenstein sends
A flare up for hope and for anyone out there
Who might need a friend, a listener, mon frère.

Kitty n AA, the BearsandtheBees,
Begin Chinesewhispers, HigVamp’s climbing trees.
Ferris and Fluffy(saurus) are shooting the breeze,
Spinning yarns and recalling days such as these.

Cockney’s our Sergeant, our Routemaster Meister,
BaldyDave’s tossing pancakes to Steffipanda.
Autisticelders gives nod to TimTex,
Clueless and AA are giving their best.

Glflegolas and IndigoElle, spreading the cheer,
FeelLikeAnAlien’s shedding a tear.
There’s nothing quite like WP Christmas Eve,
Reflecting on all we’ve been through and achieved.

No matter how big, no matter how small,
We’ve got through together, we’ve battled longhaul.
Alex at the helm, making changes to guide us,
Magz is assisting, all Mods are beside us.

Rors51, christinejarvis and Whale_Tuune,
Look to the stars, at Lost_Dragon, the full moon.
MikeT, leshawna, warrier120,
Mockturtle, Moog, TempusFugit, and blooie!!

League_Girl, CarlM and quiteanextreme,
Are putting on costumes, getting into the scene.
Calcukate, SaraM, diagnosedafter50,
Jess162 sighs … “Isn’t this nifty!”

Lunella, ypod, Diamondgirl true,
Maxaginagon, zeromancer are calling to you.
They’re lighting the candles, a Christmas so bright,
Multiple sparklers and Dylanperr sprite.

The last Christmas cookie, he now splits in two,
Shares it with our dear kitty, who gives him his due.
Oh noes! Holeymackerel is singing like Elvis!
He makes starkid swoon, he’s swinging his pelvis!

There’s much merry-making as traven and Edna,
Consider the menu, Enviro, Andromeda …
Get busy cooking and sharing their treats,
Ferris gives Fluffy his turkeyleg feast.

Y-Pod and Cecil whose cat makes life better,
Calls upon OutsideView to deliver to the letter.
Karaoke to get this place hoppin’
The Beatles, The Kinks, Smashing Pumpkins, no stoppin’.

QuantChemist starts singing Hallelujah,
Madbutnotmad howls “Baby You CAN Drive My Car.”!
AsPartofMe sings “That’s Amore” with zest,
As Jetso rocks out, Billy Eilish, The Clash.

TwilightPrincess starts on a Britney medley,
Shlaifu and Aardvark chow down on Brie.
SirSensealot swears that his Hips Cannot Lie,
As Nomad48 croons “That’ll Be The Day–ay-ay That I Die”.

While Grease is the word is the word that I heard,
OkaySometimes and Cammr are dressed like T-Birds.
AngelWitch shreaks out “It’s Raining on Prom Night”,
The Kinks are heard wailing “Lola” all the day and all of the night…

Nick007 still shaken, not stirred,
Perspehone’s toe tapping to something she’s heard.
Domineekee sings “I Really Got You”,
As AuntBlabb sings duet with Is(abella) …“Blue Bayou”.

Falloy and Weirdness like MenWithoutHats,
Croon Land DownUnder to Raleigh, cool cats.
Jingo8’s rendition of “TimeWarp” sends shudders
StephanieRussel requests “Hot Patootie” and others.

AA, Bricktoria n willaful strut,
To naturalplastic’s Queen medley, in his Rock hut.
They “Want To Break Free” singing “We Will Rock You”!
Milkster sings “Bohemian Rhapsody anew.

NorthWind, XSara, FranzOren and skibum,
ObsessingoverObsessions, with weirdness, abandon.
Just don’t Press that Button declares Mountain Goat,
But too late! We’ve pressed it, asureaswe wrote …

We all know that “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” while
“Boys Will Be Boys” and will never be done.
Maycontainthunder sings “Silent Night”,
Then catlover5 covers “When Doves Cry”, takes flight.

Bravo5150 sings with our armandrayes,
“Don’t Dream It’s Over” and “Those Were The Days”.
Sweetleaf brings the house down with “Louie Louie”,
DoubleRetired sings “Me, Myself, I”.

NeilM is jumping along with the rest,
Whooping it up, puts oneweirdgrrrl to the test.
Sarahsmith, Midori, our Angnix and Marknis,
Now into the light and out of the darkness.

Lostonearth’s engaged in a vibrant tango,
With Goldfish, while Sylkat sings please “Let It Go”.
ElabR8 shimmies and DoniiMann shakes,
Highly-Autistic hums “Every Breath You Take …”

Greenm, ironponey, I have no money,
Start churning out Abba’s old hit “Honey Honey”.
Shortfatbalduglyman foxtrots with beady,
Rileydaboss starts tapdancing with usagi.

Lucgn01 and our dear Gifted-Monster …
are sampling the quiche and the spiked punch and lobster.
Summer-Twilight, Blazingstar, our Fireblossom,
Are dancing their toes off, 1986 rocks on.

Techstepp appears to be taking a tumble,
Into the pool, we all hear him mumble …
“Best Night we’ve had in a very long while”,
May 2021 see more nights in this style.

Phosphorusdecree chats to jlheiso, ArcticSailor,
The Grand Inquisitor dressed like Vlad the Impaler!
Drink a toast to the future, we’re staying afloat,
We’re not giving in or abandoning this boat.

As we take one last look at the year that has been,
Who would have guessed, the sky’s not fallen in!
There will be better days, we can count on each other,
WP always here, for you to discover …

So, hang on, dear friends, you’re not on your own,
Remember, you don’t need a car or a phone.
WP’s but a click on your keyboard away,
“Merry Christmas!” to each and to all on this day!

May life give you all that you need and then some …
That flicker of hope, and remember as one …
We’re in this together, our course is now set,
You guys are the answer, now don’t ever fret.

KK’s wolfie howl echoes into the night,
We gather our voices, we gather our might.
Thanks for the laughter, the chats and the care,
Supporting each other, we’ll always be there.
