I'm more into making random noises or tapping or dancing. Words just don't do it for me unless I'm singing.

I'll get on a word and keep repeating it. I'll say it when I feel...antsy.

Sometimes when really overstimulated, I need to go someplace quiet and just SING.

Haha I do that too, babble on and on about nothing, and it usually doesn't make any sense at all, my boyfriend just usually tunes me out haha.

I make a squeaking noise a lot. Usually it's when I don't know what to say or I feel it's better than using speech. Sometimes I repeat words over and over again, but that's usually only when I'm really stressed out.

I do that. Sometimes it's a phrase from a favorite movie that I like, and the other day, it was a random sentence from a novel. For some reason it kept cracking me up. "The stench from the kitties was fierce!"

A vocal stim is more like something you do when excited or stressed or to calm down. Like humming, singing, making sounds or words. Something that is soothing. It could be like a tic I guess, but also voluntary. I think?

Is a stim something you cannot help doing wiether you want to or not, or just something a bit odd that you really like to do for various helpfull reasons?

At the moment when I can, like when getting changed in the locker room with the other guys, I do this great Jungle semian low whistle that gets faster and higher in pitch to a cresendo.
Dont know what ape or monkey does it, not a Howler Monkey, but it sounds great and it feels great in my mouth, though I bet the other guys must think Iam a bit odd, I am after all nearly 50, not 5.
