Today two of my neighbors got in a confrontation so bad I had to call the police to settle things down, I was a witness to it all...

Normally, I would meltdown and freak out in this type of situation, but I found myself only sightly anxious and with a cool head!! !

I'm so proud of myself!! !

They recently doubled my mood stabilizer (I'm bipolar 1 too) and it's settled my emotions down... I mean I'm not numb now but at least I'm now functional!! !

:D

That's really good news.
Some times the right dose / medication makes all the difference.
Nice one!

Well it was an argument between an old man with dementia and a lady with mental health issues over a misunderstanding... Everything is fine now... It's usually very quiet here...

I would personally never accept mind tampering medications under any circumstance, but if you feel your problems are that severe, i would use them as a temporary crutch then try to wean yourself off them. How do you know what it's doing to your brain and body chemistry in the long term!? its an unnatural practice. Your aim should be to stablize yourself naturally.

I'm so glad to hear that you feel a lot more emotionally stable! It's also great that you were able to intervene and do so in a relatively calm manner. Good job!

A lot of people with bipolar disorder require medication to function properly and will have to take it for quite awhile. My sister and aunt have quite frequent manic/depressive episodes and have gone into psychosis without medication.

Small towns in Michigan (like hers) are usually very peaceful; but every town seems to get its fair share of "loonies".

Come to think of it, if you cannot find a "loony" in a small Michigan town, then it might be YOU!

I and many people here came from the Appalations or decended from people that have... They are proud to call themselves rednecks or hillbillies... Lol

Mostly quiet around here

so great when the meds work the way they are supposed to. Have had the "gotta kiss a lot of frogs to find the prince/princess" principle , searching to find what works is frustrating, sometimes went through several meds before finding one that did the right things without unwanted side effects. So glad you have found the right one. The right meds can make such a difference in the quality of life. sending best wishes!
