Does anyone struggle with vague or ambiguous communication in speech or writing?
I do, before diagnosis I used to wonder if my suspected autism was an excuse.

I have that problem with someone, in both directions.

Is it you or someone else being ambiguous and vague?

I don't often get what people are saying to me unless they say it in plain language. It takes me awhile to figure it out if they use innuendos or allude to things, instead of outright saying what they mean. It's frustrating.

In my own case, I have lower VIQ. It can go beyond what is considered vague.

Yes. Not sure what the ambigiuty means. But vagueness. Yes. I can give examples from my past in my first job. (As one gets older one gets more experienced). I was told by the boss that I had to label everything. I had paper and sellotape and a pen so I started lebelling the pots of things. The boss said everything had to be labelled, so each spanner I wrote "Spanner"...
The other employee told me off, but the boss was happy with what I had done. \○/

I often did not exactly know what the boss meant when he sent me to do things. He was often busy so he would say to do something, but not say how or exactly what he meant, so I would have to try to follow what he said the best I could.

Usually someone else is being vague and ambiguous

"Can you"? Like, just because you "can", you have to

"People" means two or more, but sounds like seven billion

"Care" in the dictionary means "to attend to". It doesn't specify intention outcome legality morality. But "care" sounds like a good thing

Dichotomous thinking

Dispositional versus situational ("she's friendly". The dog. Not specific enough. Does not justify off leash. And not for the owner to say. And not sufficient. That's like saying, "I don't have to stop at the red light because I am a good driver")

"Does that make sense?". Not everything makes sense. Just because something makes sense, doesn't mean it was correct

"Help," "hurt", too dramatic

"Cool", good". Like the world is their dim sum restaurant. Compliments are just as judgmental as insults

"Us" vs "you"

Mundane questions with undue enthusiasm

"Huh" and "what" instead of "excuse me"

"Holier than thou" attitude

Yes, someone does struggle with vague or ambiguous communication. However, for me, it is sometimes just fun.

An example of ambiguity is if someone is subtly trying to insult you or verbally sexually harass you, yet the insult/verbal sexual harassment is worded in such a way that it can be taken as a normal non offensive communication.

I sometimes find it confusing and often find it annoying--except when it is done cleverly in humor. I entered the world of computers in 1971 (well before personal computers invaded everything) and I have been in that world since. I always thought that all of those years working with computers had affected the way I thought--then, in 2019, I learned that maybe I had it backwards, perhaps the way I thought had attracted me to computers.

I also prefer things to be spoken in simple, clear terms.
