I live on a small island that has a population of 120,000
like most places these days, party culture and drug use have massive influence over how groups of people interact

The local DJ's in the island that i live have formed a clique of DJs
I guess this kind of thing has also happened with the people who play in unsigned bands too

The DJ's use their power in numbers and influence over the people who frequent the night clubs that they DJ at
to victimise people

I am one of the people who has been victimised by this clique, for what is over 20 years
This has caused significant damage to my reputation in the music industry, which is bad for me, as I do make music.

In my experience, the people within the local clique of DJ's are simply cowardly bullies, who do damage with their tongues through slander.

What i find funny is that none of the DJ's are tough guys who can beat people up, but instead cowardly petty criminals who do their damage with their mouths.

Still, a problem indeed, to be victimised by a gang of snide cowardly slanderers.
In our day and age, there is very little a person can do about slander, especially in the UK, where Monarch Law
sides with who ever has lots of money.

It is extremely hard and expensive to take someone to court over defamation of character due to slander or even libel.
For a poor man, it is impossible. Lawyers cost several hundred pound per hour. Such a court case would cost at the least tens of thousands.

If i had tens of thousands, i wouldn't be living in this island. Even though it is the land that i was born and the land where my parents and family (and a few friends) live.

I'm sorry that you have to go through that. It must be very scary not having the law on your side. The UK has changed a lot over the years. It's a lot more dangerous than it used to be.

I thought Jersey and Guernsey were crown dependencies, but not actually part of the UK proper.

I think that you will find that people with unsavoury political skills dominating those with musical skills is the rule, rather than the exception. Managers are notorious thieves.
