I just saw a thread on here that reminded me of something I have yet to learn much about. How common is regressive autism?

I lost speech and short-term memory in 2019. MRIs didn't find anything. One of my complaints to the neurologist was difficulty recollecting any faces. He didn't pick up on it.

Here's the thing, I used to be able to do it better. Now I draw a complete blank. My speech recovered 85%

Do many of us have regressions?

How much speech did you lose in 2019?

Regressive autism usually happens when a person is a toddler. At age 18 months, say, the person is a chatterbox. By age 2 1/2, the person lost many skills.

I was unable to speak in complete sentences because I had difficulty recollecting words resulting in very long pauses, mid-sentence, by which point I often lost track of what I was saying. Then I had words that felt like they were on the tip of my tongue but I had no ability to make my mouth articulate them.
The problem didn't really extend into writing, so I was able to write all my notes for doctors like I usually do and just read them off during appointments. Considering that, it seems I had lost ability to think and speak at the same time.
